The strategic risk is novel and underappreciated. Nvidia is now financially exposed to construction timelines, grid availability, and the commercial success of specific AI workload deployments. If hyperscale AI ROI disappoints or a major counterparty restructures, Nvidia's exposure is a direct capital loss, not merely a revenue shortfall. Simultaneously, the rumoured Google-AMD TPU co-design partnership — if confirmed — illustrates that even the world's most resourced custom silicon programmes are encountering execution limits, pushing hyperscalers back toward Nvidia procurement and compounding the moat through technical difficulty as much as deliberate strategy.
